Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Assignment Type: Contract (~6 months)

Pay: $35 – $42 / hour (based on experience)

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About The Company: Our client is a well-established organization in Silver Spring, MD looking to bring on an experienced Human Resources Manager for a contract engagement. This is a great fit for an HR professional who's comfortable balancing hands-on operational work with higher-level strategic responsibilities.

Job Description: This role will take ownership of key HR functions — employee relations, policy creation, compliance, performance management, and talent strategy — while partnering closely with leadership to support broader organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive day-to-day HR operations, including compliance oversight, employee relations, performance reviews, and policy administration
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR best practices, workforce planning, and organizational growth
• Champion employee engagement initiatives to strengthen workplace culture
• Keep HR practices aligned with applicable local, state, and federal employment laws
• Streamline and improve internal HR systems and processes
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management capacity
• Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Track record of handling confidential matters with discretion
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
• Bachelor's degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
